1. Introduction
ByteWaveNetwork ("we", "us", or "our") provides free web analysis tools at bytewavenetwork.com. We built this service with privacy in mind. We do not sell your data, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our tools, how we use it, and what rights you have with respect to that information.
2. What We Collect
We collect a minimal amount of information necessary to operate the service:
- Server logs — When you make a request to our server, we log your IP address, user agent string, timestamp, and the URL path requested. These logs exist solely for abuse prevention and security monitoring. They are retained for 30 days and then deleted automatically.
- Scan results — When you run a tool (link checker, SEO analyzer, etc.), the results are stored in our database keyed to an anonymous scan ID. There is no user account, no login, and no linkage between a scan ID and any personal identity.
- Contact information — If you reach out to us via the contact page or directly by email, we receive and store your name, email address, and message content in our email inbox. We use this solely to respond to your inquiry.
3. What We Don't Collect
We want to be explicit about what we do not do:
- We do not require accounts, passwords, or registration of any kind.
- We do not use tracking pixels or web beacons.
- We do not run advertising networks or sell ad space that tracks users.
- We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Hotjar, or any third-party behavioral analytics service.
- We do not fingerprint browsers or build cross-site tracking profiles.
4. Cookies
We do not set any cookies. The only persistence mechanism on this site is a single devutils-design key stored in your browser's localStorage (not a cookie) to remember your chosen visual design theme (Studio, Dossier, or Console). This value never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to our server.
We do not use session cookies, authentication cookies, or advertising cookies.
5. Third-Party Services
We use one third-party service on the front end:
- Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.com) — loaded on page load to serve typography. When your browser fetches fonts, Google receives your IP address and user agent as part of the standard HTTP request. This is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. If you prefer not to use Google Fonts, you can block the domain in your browser.
No other third-party scripts, SDKs, or pixels are loaded on any page.
6. Data You Submit
When you submit a URL to any of our tools, that URL is used to perform the requested scan (fetching the page, following redirects, extracting metadata, etc.). The scan results — including the input URL and all findings — are stored in our database for up to 30 days, keyed to a randomly generated scan ID.
We do not share, sell, publish, or use scan data for any purpose other than presenting results to you. We do not cross-reference scan URLs with user identities. After 30 days, results are eligible for deletion.
7. Contact Form
Our contact form constructs a mailto: link and opens your default email client with the message pre-filled. The message is sent from your email account directly to support@bytewavenetwork.com. We do not process, intercept, or store form submissions on our server — the data lives in your sent folder and our inbox only.
8. Children's Privacy
ByteWaveNetwork is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us at support@bytewavenetwork.com and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. For material changes — those that significantly alter how we handle your data — we will add a prominent note to this section describing what changed and when.
Your continued use of ByteWaveNetwork after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
